After school in England and City of London Polytechnic he continued to study while working his way up the ladder of commercial life.
After university he worked with a privately owned, international freight container company financed in a variety of innovative ways and eventually selling the assets and goodwill of the business to a US based industry leader at substantial value multiple and in a highly tax efficient manner for the equivalent of $50 million.
Establishing and developing a private venture capital business using the funds generated above. The policy adopted was one of interventionist management and he adopted a leading executive role within the businesses backed.

- This was a business that he developed with its founder and was an Interactive Telephone Response system that was the largest in North America at the time and predated the Internet. It utilized the power of a voice mail type operation to drive a database of properties for sale in Canada and was available for access by the general public to obtain details of residential listings of over 46,000 real estate agents.
HyperCast Limited

- Embedding encrypted Reuters financial information within CNN’s broadcast satellite signals for receipt by subscribers directly on their PCs. This was a technology and information based system that was a complex joint venture between HyperCast, CNN and Reuters that had a footprint of over 1.2 billion people and required turning around. The company was ultimately reverse-mergered by me into DataText and Satellite Superhighways, Inc., a NASD OTCBB company based in California.

- This was a division of HyperCast and provided “Teletext” for CNN throughout Europe and the Middle East. Teletext is a predominantly European, text based information system that is embedded within the VBI (Vertical Blanking Interval) of broadcast television signals. Television sets in Europe are equipped to receive such signals and broadcasters use it to provide large amounts of Sports, News and Programming information to their viewers. Closed Captioning is a cousin of this technology.

- Funding and developing an expansion strategy for this London based, healthy fast food operation during a period in which it grew from 8 outlets to 65 with annual sales rising from under $10 million to over $150 million. Developing a US expansion strategy and obtaining backing from a “Household Name” US fast food company for a $250 million cash bid for the whole of the privately owned business. The bid was turned down but the company has recently announced the sale of 30% of its business to McDonalds and begun to implement my US strategy.
EnterTech Media Group.

- Co-founding EnterTech with John Daly of “Platoon” and “Last Emperor” fame and developing it into a fully integrated Feature Film production and distribution company.
Dealing with all the issues relating to bringing EnterTech public.
Employment of multi-platform digital production techniques.
Using and helping to develop the latest techniques to create and deliver entertainment to a Global audience.
Assembling a library of content with a production value of over $100 million.
Starmaze Network.

- Developing multi-platform content delivery systems.
Establishing a Global IP based VPN utilizing Global Crossing’s fiber optic backbone and MPLS to provide the guarantee of QoS lacking on the Internet.
Enabling Content (particularly Entertainment), Service and Applications providers to deliver their products over a secure unlimited bandwidth network to a connected base of several hundred million potential buyers or subscribers who already possess multiple platform connectivity.
Allowing voice and data traffic to be carried alongside Media Rich content at virtually no cost.
